The Bible, is the believer’s Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth! The B-I-B-L-E is the book for me! The Bible is probably the most read and least applied book of all time. Most believers would have to admit that this book is not always applied in the day to day lives of the many individuals who read it. Yes, being a Bible scholar is important to many people who want to win the thousands of religious arguments and debates that are fought on an almost daily basis around the world. Many others read the Bible as a history book and as a chronicle on what God did on yesterday. They believe that God was a healer, God was a deliverer, that God was a redeemer, that God was a supplier, and they believe simply that God was. These individuals think that the miraculous and the exploits of God were only for that day and time.
I view the Bible in a different light. I believe that the Bible is the only written and infallible Word of God, This Book contains the very words of our God! In it’s 66 books, one will find words that are spirit and life. I believe that the Bible is a living book that not only records the exploits of the Saints of old, but it is a book that will lead believers on the path to good success in their present and in their future. The God of the Bible is not dead. He is the same God today that he was on yesterday, and he is the same God that he will be on tomorrow!
The Bible contains daily instructions in the handling of our affairs. The Bible teaches us that individuals who have suffered great falls, can comeback and overcome adversity. The Bible is our roadmap to conquering death, which has defeated so many over the annals of time.
The Bible is our instruction manual for gaining eternal life. The Bible is where the very words of our God are contained. God speaks to us not through a face to face conversation, but he speaks to us through his word. There is a word for the situation or dilemma that you are presently grappling with. One finds life and the only legal weapon to fight our enemy, the devil, in the Word of God. The Word of God is called the sword of the Spirit in Ephesians Chapter 6.
The Sword of the Spirit is the only legal weapon to fight our persistent enemy with. One doesn’t fight Satan with a 38 or a 9MM pistols, but one overcomes the enemy with the Word of God. In the Bible, we learn that we can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth us. In the Bible, we learn that no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper. In the Bible, we learn that all things work together for the good of those that love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose.
The Bible is loaded with many exceeding great and precious promises. In this day of book clubs, Oprah’s Picks, and a renewed emphasis on reading, let’s not forget to read the greatest story that was ever told. The Bible should be your Basic Instructions for Leaving Earth. Don’t leave home without it! Please don’t leave this earth without it’s word in you! In the Bible are the words of eternal life. The Bible’s words hold the key to heaven’s door and a life without end!
