Gospel Rap!

Should Gospel Rap become an accepted form of Gospel Music? Does this form of expression reach some that many of us traditional types can’t reach?

  1. Yes it should. Many people forget that our “Traditional Gospel” was rejected when it first came on the scene. People said that it sounded too much like the blues. Walter Hawkins said that people rejected him when he wrote, “Oh Happy Day” Because it sounded to contemporary. Now, black churches have worn that song out nation wide.

God never changes, but the Times do. This generation needs to see people they can identify with in the church.d Gospel Rappers are the people to do it.
