Gospel Rap?

What do you think of gospel rap? This genre is one of the most controversial in the entire gospel music industry. Is this a valid form of worship? Mr. Del is a Memphian that grew up in Holiness and he forsook a career in the gangster rap arena to sing gospel rap. I am asking your opinion because I wanted to make sure that I was not passing judgement so quickly on this genre.

  1. I appreciate the fact that you ask for opinions first, I have seen a lot of people attack first and question later, Jesus declared that God is a Spirit and that those who would worship Him must do so in spirit and in Truth…the true measure of whether any music form can be Worship worthy is found in the heart and spirit of the musician. To be quite honest all music forms offer worship to something or someone…gospel rap merely focuses that worship toward the one who is worship worthy. Rap is merely a form of expression aimed at a certain demographic of people…it’s not for everyone…but that doesn’t disqualify it as tool to be used by God to reach the lost.

  3. The Coffee stays on WAKIN US ALL UP as none of us can even fathom Gods infinite ways! But I do see the “GOD BOX is once again created” You cannot say GOD cannot do something….If GOD spoke througha Donkey to Balaam in the book of NUMBERS and rose LAZARUS from the dead… GOD can use GOSPEL RAP, HOLY HIP HOP, TECHNO, R&P to save a soul…Look how Rance Allen served secular folks back in the day….PRAY and know GOD cannot be put in a box!! God Bless you.
