  1. I loved the interview. She is a wonderful person and I’m sure Bishop was surely blessed to have her as his wife. It appears her heart as been branded with the initals G E. Good for her.

I esp. love the fact the she stated that she wants the peace, love and harmony to continue in the church and she’s not afraid to step to the plate to whomever comes there. Good for her……she has been there since the beginning and I pray the honor and respect due to her will remain always! I’m glad to hear the Bishop made it known that she will always be in growth and progress of that church. My hat is off to her. I would love to meet her one day. She seems reals nothing fake or phony.

    God Bless You, Sis. Lou

  2. IT’S TOO BAD C.O.G.I.C. DOESN’T HAVE WOMEN PASTORS. SIS LOU. COULD CONTINUE ON THE VISION SECOND TO NONE. I AGREE WITH HER, DON’T BE AFRAID OF NO ONE TO MAKE SURE THE LOVE AND HARMONY REMAINS THERE. I SAY TO SIS. LOU CONTINUE TO TAKE YOUR SEAT IN THE PULPIT. YOU WERE THERE FROM BEGINNING AND CONTINUE TO SEE IT THROUGH.

IT’S WONDERFUL, SHE’S KEEPING HER HUSBAND MEMORY ALIVE. WE NEED TO SEE MORE OF THAT IN THE CHURCH. YOU CAN TELL SHE WAS 200 PRECENT IN HIS CORNER. LIKE SHE SAID BISHOP TAUGHT HER IF NEED BE YOU CAN STAND LONELY…HE REALLY LOVED HER AND PREPARED HER WELL.

    GOD BLESS YOU!

  3. TAKE YOUR STAND SIS.LOU, LOVED THE INTERVIEW…TOO BAD YOU CAN’T BECOME THE PASTOR…YOU SHOULD BE, YOU’RE VERY WELL CAPABLE AND WILL BE THE BEST AT IT. CONTINUE TO MAKE HIS MEMORY STAY ALIVE, I HAVE MUCH RESPECT FOR YOU AND I LOVE WHEN YOU LET THE WORLD KNOW…WHAT YOU LIKE AND WHAT YOU’RE NOT AFRAID OF. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT.

  4. Why can’t she become the pastor? Please don’t tell me C.O.G.I.C. don’t believe in women pastors? She is awesome and I agree she would be the best! What, that’s crazy…. If they won’t allow her to be that, I can tell by her interview she will be all up in that mix! I don’t blame her one bit.

    Go Girl….

  5. I thought the interview was very nice. You don’t hear about a person after one so large has gone on. It was kind of her to share her story. I agree with the rest. She should be the one to carry the church on however, I’m sure that won’t be the case. Either way…she is very instrumental at that church and I’m sure Bishop left no one to wonder where her place will be and always remain. It would be nice if anyone had clippings of her speaking at church events on youtube. Please share.

I wish her the best in life as I’m sure Bishop would only have it that way for her. She seems very nice and she’s quite a dresser!

I would love to visit the musemn once it’s complete. What a nice tribute

  6. Have the found a new pastor yet? do they have a certain time that they have to have one? I’m not c.o.g.i.c. so I don’t know how they do things like that. The interview was nice. Boy, she loves jewerly doesn’t she? I hope her husband’s vision is respected and continues on. Sometime people tend to want to do things there own way. I pray for peace in all of this

    God bless,

  7. Temple of Deliverance,
God has already blessed the church with a Great woman of god Louise Patterson. Take the stand Sis. Patterson no matter what man say, If gods will is for you take on the church lead and guide them in the way of Holiness and you won’t go wrong.

I Love You and God Bless you

  8. To the Temple of Deliverance Family:
May God continue to strengthen you through this time.
Sis. Lou you are truly a blessed woman of God. It has enlightend my
heart to see you in this interview you are more than a conquerer!!!
    Stay beautiful and elegant.

    Stay strong in Christ!!!!

  9. She is already the PASTOR!

  10. Bishop G.E. Patterson (In Memorial)

Where are you going in such a hurry?
You’ve already missed most of the game,
Step aside my brother cause it’s not basketball,
Bishop G.E. Patterson is his name.

Gathering my stuff while checking my watch,
Later gators, down the steps, boom, out the door,
Finally realized I couldn’t make it safely in 20 minutes,
Well, that’s OK because he comes on again at four.

Reading the paper 3/22/2007 something caught my eye,
A section of the Cleveland Plain Dealer I usually glance bye,
G.E. Patterson, head of Church of God in Christ,
On Tuesday the old nemesis heart failure claimed his life.

A family tradition by a list of who’s who, he earnestly carried on,
Not just in the pulpit, soulfully felt when belting out a religious song,
Forty years in service to Christ Jesus, was really not that long,
Like the mighty wings of eagles his preaching was graceful yet strong.

Bountiful Blessings, not the magazine, but those he gave,
With spirit filled sermons, countless souls were saved,
A Stellar Gospel Award, was there anything he couldn’t do?
Received in January for “Singing The Old Time Way Volume 2.”

The year 1957 in the Motown city of Hitsville, AKA Detroit,
Ordained as a church elder our Heavenly Father did anoint,
Be strong Mrs. Louise Patterson, his loving wife of 35 years,
For your lovely face is not the only one adorned with tears.

Let that water of sadness last no more than one or two days,
At Calvary Jesus bore our griefs as He took that stress away,
This is way to early; your husband had so much left in his store,
Believe & understand our Savior is now providing him with more.

Well, actually not always, I can see it going something like this,
No, no, no Jesus, let me show You again, preaching is not hit or miss,
Not just Ohio to Tennessee but encompassing the whole wide world,
Truly will you be a missed one Bishop Patterson, Gilbert Earl.

  11. My Friend stated she submitted a poem she saw regarding Bishops’s wife on here. Where is it?

  12. Sister Patterson is a great lady!

  13. Evangelist Patterson preached up a storm at the women’s
convention i believe in 2005. She is said she was the co/pastor
under her husband. She was on fire that night. I suspect she
will be pastor. She is a great preacher!!

    WE LOVE YOU

  14. Sister Patterson is a great lady, but she was not co/pastor under Bishop.

  15. She was not Co-Pastor by name, but if you were really in the loop you would know…………………………well I will leave it just like that!

  16. No she wasn’t ! She was his wife the first lady of the church and that’s it. Stop trying to make her out to be more than what she was. People kill me putting people on pedestals and give them roles they have no business trying to have…she was his wife and carried the role well and today she is the former first lady .
Pastor Hawkins and First Lady Catherine is doing the work God has them doing they have moved on and everyone else should too.

That’s what’s wrong with churches today clicks!

If you love her so much help her with the introduction and closing remarks on the telecast each Sunday…It needs it! BAD.

    • we should not bad mouth the leaders or former leaders in our churches we need to have encouraging words for them especially individuals like the former first lady louse Patterson learn some respect

  17. Lakeesha Brown let me take a little time to educate you. Since I spent enough time with Bishop Patterson I can make the following statements! Bishop Patterson loved his wife and revered her! He was proud of how great she looked when she stepped out. He was proud when she spent his money. What in the world is your point? She was much more than just the founder’s wife! She played an important role in the growth of that ministry! If you have suggestions for her broadcast present them in her face. If Pastor Hawkins and his wife have moved on if would be very easy since they don’t have 40 years invested in Bishop Patterson’s Ministry, like Louise Patterson does! I admire you giving your name because most people don’t, but I still want you to know the following: This is the wrong place to come and bash Evangelist Louise Patterson!

  18. Pastor Smith,

If you want to think that because I the spoke truth and my mind is bashing Louise Patterson then that’s on you. No one ever said she did not invest in the ministry, nor spent his money and looked good and represented him well. However, she WAS NOT the assistant pastor, co-pastor whatever you want to call it. Bottom line. She was the 1st lady of T.O.D. and did a great job in her role as being 1st lady.

Folks want to stay stuck there and sorry the clock keeps on ticking therefore moving forward.

If it was somebody else you would be saying the same thing. The truth is the truth and you know it…you’re a professional and that intro and closing does need work and I DON’T HAVE ONE PROBLEM telling her that. Sad part is; you know it too. Yeah, it’s nice that Bishop’s desire to keep the sermons going are going on but let’s keep it real.

I agree with January 17th and what that person said is the truth. If you and other’s seem to feel that just because some folk differ with you is bashing her oh well. A reality check is needed. People kill me being so rightegous yet so fake!

Regarding Pastor and 1st Lady Hawkins, I commend them on taking such a task yet realizing who the main focus is (Jesus) and the work that has to continue in the NAME OF JESUS and keep going.

    Don’t hate!

  19. Ms. Lakeesha I admire your honesty.

  20. Tiffany why do you have the same IP Address as Ms. Lakeesha? Hmmmmmmmm……, makes you think doesn’t it?

  21. Ms. Lakeesha, first of all I don’t hate or really care about many of the things that you think I do. My feelings for Sister Patterson will never change. I am not involved in any way with your church’s goings on, and I can promise you that I am as detached as anyone could be about a lot of goings on at TOD.

However, Louise Patterson shared the dreams of the founder of this ministry, and it goes to show that you were not really involved in the church then because anyone that had a role in leadership will tell you that Louise Patterson was always the Assistant Pastor of Temple of Deliverance! I said it! Now let someone step up and deny it, and I will provide proof that what I am saying is correct!

Does that surprise you? No one has a broader claim to Bishop Patterson’s legacy than she does! You were very frank and honest in your initial comments, but please know that the IP address of everyone that posts comes in with each comment for approval. (Point-)Twenty People can’t defend your position using the same IP Address! By the way Sister Patterson is not on for free, so what problem should you have with how she spends her money? I need a response back from only you and not one of your alter egos!

  22. I do have a questions though forgot to ask you. Why wasn’t she allowed to move from co-pastor to pastor ? If she was by your standards the co-pastor/assistant pastor why didn’t she just remain in the position of co-pastor today? Did Pastor Hawkins not ask her to remain as the co-pastor/assistant pastor?

    Thanks,

    Kee

  23. This is the last of this back and forth. Sister Patterson has always been the unspoken Asst. Pastor of Temple of Deliverance while Bishop was alive. Anyone in leadership from the the past can tell you that. I don’t think she wants to be anyone’s Asst. Anything right now, she just wants to continue her husband’s legacy, and I support her in doing so!

  24. Pastor Smith,

What happen to the posting I sent answering you at 6:47? Okay, not a problem you post what you want to and rightfully so it’s your blog. I’ll let you and all your unspokeness be.

    You have a good one!

  25. I HEAR YOU PEOPLE OF GOD SAYING THAT SIS. PATTERSON SHOULD
BE THE HEAD PASTOR. PASTOR SMITH YOU SAY YOU ARE A MAN OF GOD .

THEN YOU KNOW THAT WOMEN ARE NOT SURPPOSE TO BE HEAD OF THE CHURCH.IT”S NOT MY LAW IT”SGOD LAW,I”M SURE YOU KNOW THE SCRIPTURES.

  26. Williams I have never said that Sis. Patterson should be Pastor of Temple of Deliverance! I have defended her on being the Head of Bountiful Blessings! Once again I will state that I don’t have a beef with female preachers! If that was what you were looking for there it is!

  27. As it was stated this is about kingdom building who cares are we still SAVED.

  28. just asking a question did not mean to affend you with your respond back( I am! ( ! )

  29. Hi, everyone . Lets me start by saying we as Christians do not have time to waste commenting back and forth with narrow-minded people. I am not a member of or has ever been of a member of the COGIc. But I can tell you I loved Bishop Patterson as well as the members did/does. I would listen to him on Sunday morning and still will as long as the tapes are being aired. Mrs. Louise was, is, and should always be a instrumental person in the ministry of T.O.D., just because the Bishop has passed does not mean she should just die out or be put out in the pastures. The insight and knowledge she has and the legacy left by her husband should be allowed to continue with her help. The new pastor should do things with tact and gracefulness. Think about it, if it was you how would you feel.. Yes also the new pastor should be given the freedom to run the church as God leads him. But not just to overlook the legacy ministry that was left. We can not throw away things just because a person has passed and is no longer here to oversee it personally. Because Jesus went away and left commands for us to follow in hopes of progressing to Heaven. I love Sis. Patterson and I missed the Bishop. I did get to talk with him and shake his hand years ago when he came to Montgomery, Al. Again lets be careful Lakeesha Brown because the Bible teaches “Touch not my anointed and Do my prophet no harm.’ You can touch Gods anointed with your mouth and cause yourself harm. Pastor Smith
the time you wasted commenting to Lakeesha could have been spent praying for her. You are in a great position as a leader and remember not to even entertain people with negative thoughts or words. God will take care of them.
    God Bless you all

  30. Your input was indeed passionate, and full of valuable points. I take your words to be those of one that loves God. I meant no harm to Ms. Brown, and I certainly could have deleted this post before you ever got the chance to see it. I agree that Pastor Hawkins is the spiritual leader of TOD, and I never doubted that since day one, but I do not regret standing with Sister Patterson in her quest to continue the legacy of her husband with the Bountiful Blessings Broadcast. The Scriptures declare: In Business Be Men, that basically is a cry for some men of God to not be spineless, or jellyback preachers. I walk and talk in the vein of this scripture in my defense of Louise Patterson! I am praying for God’s richest for you S. Dorsey!

  31. I am wondering what happen to the sunday broadcast,
and can a person still send for the sermons that was
    being televised. God Bless

  32. What do you mean leave a reply. Iam asking a question will I be getting a answer?
